SUMMARY:Theology for the Restoration Movement
DESCRIPTION:The Restoration Movement or Stone-Campbell Movement arose from a commitment to biblical authority and church unity that had global evangelism as its goal. Wary of human traditions\, creeds\, and denominations\, various ways of describing this movement were offered\, such as “in essentials\, unity; in opinions\, liberty; in all things\, love.” But what are the essential beliefs that define the historic Christian faith (e.g. God\, Christ\, Holy Spirit\, humanity\, sin\, salvation\, etc.) and hold these churches together?\nThis course can be taken on its own or as part of a 5 course Certificate in Bible and Theology. Participants independently work through seven weeks of guided reading and reflection which culminates in a two-day in-person retreat on July 20 and July 21 at West Side Christian Church in Springfield\, Illinois. \nTeaching Fellow: Greg Taylor\nCost: $250

DESCRIPTION:After years of being a central figure in the lives and life of the church\, retirement can be a daunting experience. How do we find new ways to live out our calling\, protect our legacy\, and protect the church?\nWe are seeking 8 to 12 pastors who are nearing retirement or who have recently retired.\nParticipants will gather for a two-day retreat on July 7 and 8\, 2026\, and then participate in monthly online sessions for the following six months. Our hope is that this investment not only provides encouragement in the moment\, but also helps build caring peer relationships that will serve as a deep source of support in this new phase of life.\nWe are so committed to building a community of care for pastors\, that we’re covering half ($500) of the participation costs for each pastor selected. No one will be turned away due to an inability to pay\, so even if you don’t know a pastor who needs this right now\, please consider financially partnering with us to offer it for those who do. \nFacilitator: Dr. Chuck Sackett\nCost: $500
